YUY is a youth group supported by adult volunteers. These Adult Facilitators support our youth members in planning the schedule and running the weekly events. Please see the bios for our current adult facilitators provided below.

Scott Mair

Scott has a 4-year Applied Psychology Degree and 10 years experience working with Youth, both in Canada and the U.K. Scott has worked for Alberta Children’s Services, The Youth Emergency Shelter, and the Youth Transitions Program with the YMCA. In his spare time he volunteers with various youth serving agencies in the Edmonton area. Scott enjoys watching educational films from the Library with his Husband, traveling and cleaning. Scott feels that the world would be a better place if everyone drank more hot chocolate (marshmallows optional).

Scott is the current Director of YUY and the Institute’s Sexual Minority Youth Outreach Worker. He would love to hear from you with any questions you may have about queer youth resources, peer supports, and community programs or services. He also has an interest in assisting with your cleaning product needs!
